Why choose iDisplay over hardware display?
Your iPad, iPad Pro, iPhone and iPod touch can be your secondary display.
Works with both Mac and Windows computers.
iDisplay lets you interact with your additional display: move objects, draw, control playback.
Pan and zoom your desktop right on iOS device.
Easily switch between portrait and landscape screen orientations: simply rotate your device and it will adjust automatically.
Normal and double resolution modes for Retina displays.
Customize display settings for each device you use as your secondary display, iDisplay will remember your preferences.
Work with Excel, Word, Power Point and other apps and have all desktop features available on your iPad or iPhone.
On macOS you can choose one of the following iDisplay modes:
Use iDisplay as a regular secondary display: gives you more screen space for everything you have to keep your eye on.
Mirror image from main display on your iPad / iPhone: comes in handy when you need to share your desktop with your audience. Keep in mind that iDisplay allows to connect multiple devices to one Mac! Yes, lots of them! Many colleges use iDisplay.
On Windows, iDisplay can be used as a regular secondary display.

Pros and cons of iDisplay app for iPhone and iPad
iDisplay app good for
The app is excelent, but it did slow down my Windows 7 notebook too much. And it was not able to play a video on the iPad, but this is expected.
If I can get this bad boy in landscape mode, Im going to throw away my keyboard
its a bit laggy and unstable, but hey this is the first version!
It is a great app nevertheless, i look forward to more updates
Ok so this is laggy but its great for keeping IM windows in ect... I really do love it. Fix the lag and its a five stars.
I purchased this application when it first came out. At the time, I played with it a bit and found it to be too slow and crash-prone and so it just sat unused for a long time.
The previous version of the Mac client was a lot more stable, but still a bit jerky in terms of responsiveness. The latest version of the client is now *much* more responsive on my iPhone 3GS over 802.11n wifi. No longer do I have to scroll or move windows in a move-wait-move-wait fashion. Its not *instant* response 30 fps, but its definitely good for what its doing.
The latest Mac client now automatically detects when the app connects/disconnects, getting rid of the constant phantom display that previous reviewers have griped about. For my personal setup, this is actually less convenient for me, so the only remaining improvement I would recommend is providing an option to have the phantom display (thats viewable in a window, anyways) remain when the device disconnects.
While its taken some time, kudos to SHAPE Services for listening to their customers and taking the feedback into consideration.
In short, this is now a quite useful and functional utility, if there was an award for Most Improved App, Id give it to iDisplay hands down!
Before the update, I really hesitated on purchasing the app, but now with the 1.3 update, I like the app, and its buttery smooth (sure not 30 fps, but quite smooth considering working over WiFi), and keeps your Aero Theme on Windows 7.
Now, I can keep my e-mail on one screen, and the browser on another...many ways to use iDisplay in very useful ways
Get this app fast! :)
Some bad moments
I had no success. It runs on 32 bits which means you cannot have all your ram available. I was not able to connect to my mac which crashed. I tried the support. Helpful but at the end it was a waste of time. I dont recommend it.
Im sorry but it doesnt work although finds my Win8 PC.
Splashtop works very good but i have only 5 minutes in trial version.
How to get money back? I will pay for Splashtop.
Awesome concept, lousy implementation. The installation process is simple, it makes it very clear that you have to turn of display mirroring before start, but.... if one have no other display connected? How to turn it of? In my case, I dont use mirroring since I do lots of presentation, so was good, ok? Nah, restarted and no go, it does not locates my Macbook. Well, lets uninstall it and try again. A Terminal script?! Ok, lazy developers, as instructed, but did not found the directory! Help on line? Say your prayers, pall, they STILL had no working link to answer your questions. Seems to me the greedy developers launched an alpha version just in time for the iPad launch so they can put their hands in some fools money (this was me...) DO NOT BUY! Read Engadget if you dont trust my english, I should had....
Man, the delay between the computer and iPad screen is huuuuge, I found impossible to work with it =/
Unfortunately the app does not work as it shows in the 3º image. Its a shame that they show something that the app does not do for real because its an expensive app.
It doesnt share the screen as a 2º display. It only open on porgram per time on your iPad screen, and it doesnt work if you minimize the window on your computer, so you need to keep the same window open, on the computer and on the iPad. And It just doesnt make sense!
The remote display has a lot of delay when receiving the commands from keyboard and mouse. Also the touch is slow.
Usually iDisplay iOS app used & searched for
idisplay,
air display,
dual display,
dual monitor,
Duet Display,
and other. So, download free iDisplay .ipa to run this nice iOS application on iPhone and iPad.
